The human mind is complex and mysterious, encompassing a wide range of elements, including our beliefs, sensations, thoughts, perceptions, desires, and more. Our brain activities follow a blueprint that we acquire throughout our life. Psychologists have classified the mind into three different types: Fluid Mind, Rigid Mind, and Flexible Mind. It’s essential to understand these categories and determine which represents your dominant type to achieve balance in your life.

The Fluid Mind

Fluid-minded people typically struggle with consistency, control, determination and goal setting. These individuals often require guidance and direction but can still thrive as subordinates in the workplace. They are more carefree, spontaneous, and adventurous, taking things one day at a time. Their open-mindedness and flexibility make them valuable members of the team, especially when brainstorming ideas or taking new initiatives.

If you identify as a fluid mind type, it’s important to develop routines and set reasonable goals for yourself to achieve your potential and make progress in your career and personal life. Work on building confidence and being proactive while also embracing change and being open to new experiences.

The Rigid Mind

On the other hand, Rigid-minded people have a strong need for control and a rigid sense of discipline and rules. They are precise and deliberate in their actions and are great at jobs that require a lot of order and regulations. Their attention to detail makes them essential in quality control and project management positions, where errors can lead to significant consequences. However, rigid-minded people can also appear superficial and boring due to their highly structured approach that leaves little room for spontaneity or creativity.

If you identify as a rigid mind type, it’s essential to learn to let go sometimes and take breaks to avoid burnout. You must also work on your adaptability and try to be more spontaneous, allowing yourself to have fun and explore your creative side. The Flexible Mind

Flexible minds fall somewhere in the middle, actively avoiding or embracing control depending on the situation. They are balanced, open-minded, and assertive. They are creative and smart with their opinions but are also happy to hear other perspectives. They analyze things carefully, putting others at ease with their non-judgmental and friendly demeanors. Flexible minds can adjust to the demands of a situation, while still holding true to their values and beliefs.

If you identify as a flexible mind type, it’s important to continue developing your analytical skills while also trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone. Embrace change and seek out new perspectives and experiences, and practice assertiveness in all aspects of your life.


While we all possess parts of each of these mind types, often, one is more dominant. It’s essential to take a closer look at ourselves and realize the aspects that we need to improve to reach a balance between these types. By doing so, we can have new experiences while avoiding missing out on great opportunities.
