The video then shows the injured boy in the emergency room of the American University Hospital. The Reddit post states that doctors attempted to hold the boy’s face together to protect his airway. The user reported that the teenager was kept alive for two days before he succumbed to his injuries.
“All the surgeons could do was to stitch up his very deep and severe wounds in his face. Although some clinicians on the Net have said that a good ENT could patch this kid up good, this poor guy could not be saved. All they were able to do was to keep him alive in the ICU for two days before he died.”
Viewer Skepticism Regarding the Authenticity of the Diving Accident Video
As the video started trending, many viewers expressed doubts about its authenticity. Some claimed the video was fake, citing hospital footage that suggested the teenager had attempted a “failed 9mm suicide.” The Reddit user countered this claim, arguing that a failed 9mm attempt could not cause such extensive facial damage.
The social media user also noted that the video was unsettling from the start due to the trilingual warning displayed for viewers. The post further stated:
“Throughout the video, there is some weird, cheesy, hard to describe instrumental music going in the background for some strange reason really adds to the terror. The amateurish cellphone footage that jumps around jerkily also in some way adds to the terror.”
